Happy April, Superhero.

Spring brings change. Bulbs push flowers up to the sky, trees bud with new life. Our weather here in the northwest is fickle this time of year; bright sunshine one day, dark fog and sleeting rain the next. And the cherry blossoms have me in tears they are so beautiful. Change is happening all around us. The earth is literally growing.

But change is scary. People stay in loveless marriages to avoid change, we stay in dead-end jobs to avoid growing, we stay in ruts to avoid the unknown. Fear of the unknown keeps many of us stuck.

We’ve all been there, right?

Then Spring comes and reminds us that change can be good and life has options. Time to grow, Mother Nature says.

I don’t know about you, but I always feel motivated around the first of the year to reflect on what is working, what isn’t, and what new things I want to bring into my life. This January was no different, and as I sat in my annual Visioning Meeting with my team to plot and plan for the coming year, we were buzzing with ideas to bring my most powerful stories to life. The work we did, has filled the future with glowing promise of new personal and professional frontiers. (Stay tuned for more exciting developments!)

Rolling up our sleeves, we tackled our to-do list. #1 on that list? Refreshing my website. Gulp. As I continue to grow and change, so must my marketing tools. We decided my website needed to be clearer, and easier to navigate. I have invested in professional photography (I’m talking to you, Kenton Waltz) and hours of meetings with marketing professionals (Thank you Oh! Creative) and speakers who have the things I want (David Newman, you are a dream and I always learn so much from my NSA colleagues, Karen McCullough, Elizabeth McCormick, and Colleen Sweeney).

I developed a new positioning statement, culled through the thousands of images, and wrote and re-wrote the copy. It was a LOT of work. I balked at diving in, but once I did, the changes inspired me to keep moving.

…and Ta-da! After all that intentional work, she is ready to launch! I am SO excited to invite you all to my updated website. Kellijaecks.com

My favorite updates? I now have a calendar so you can see where I am and what I’m up to, I have a page devoted to meeting professionals who want to book me with quick links for them to get what they need with ease. Its cleaner, it’s better. It’s refined, renewed, refreshed. Check it out here.

Hello, Spring.

Because I am a self-care strategist, I love sharing the latest products, ideas, books, websites and things that help us take better care of ourselves. With that in mind, I am happy to introduce my new segment: the Self-Care Share. When I get a sniff of some delicious and super cool, healthy thing that you can incorporate into your life I’ll share about it here.

So here is my first official self-care share: (excited?)

I have discovered the best non-gluten pasta ever! It’s called Banza Chickpea pasta. Sounds weird, but I am telling you - this stuff holds its shape and actually tastes like pasta. I love it!  It comes in shells, spirals, even spaghetti. With 2x the protein, 4x the fiber, and nearly half the net carbs, you can make every night pasta night!

Seriously, try it!  LINK HERE

As I head into April, I’m looking forward to connecting with a ton of my dental peeps at the Oregon Dental Convention in Portland, OR April 3-6. Shoot me a FB message or text me if you’re around, I’d love to see you!

On the 20th I’m off to Scotland, where I’ll be sightseeing for a few days before keynoting at the WORLD’S ONLY menopause festival! #FlushFest  It will be an honor to attend with women from around the world, talking about menopause. Amazing.

If you’re not already connected, connect!  I would love to have you with us. Better yet – let me know what you want to read about. What scares you? What stories of change would you share? I would love to read about you. Really, I would.

I close this latest entry thinking about you, whoever is reading this. I wonder about your changes. The ones you know you need to make but are avoiding. I encourage you to do one thing today that feels different. Go to that exercise class, talk to your husband about that hard thing, take a deep breath and dive into whatever challenges you face, even if you’re scared. You will shine in the truth. Grab a friend and take a leap. I know you have it in you. Step up and watch yourself shine.

 Happy April, Superhero.
